What's in the Number?
1993 Indianapolis 500 Pole Day. A.J. Foyt's attempt to compete in his 36th consecutive Indy 500 ended when he retired from driving Indy cars moments before qualifications began. Prompted by teammate Robby Gordon's crash that morning, Foyt, 58, decided to focus solely on his young driver. It was arranged for Foyt to take a bittersweet final lap around the 2.5-mile Brickyard as 200,000 fans saluted him with cheers--and tears. In honor of the Legend s retirement in 1993, we proudly present the Foyt No. 93 dessert wine.
